Yomi, dark realm of the dead at Japanese
Desperate for the death of Izanami, Izanagi makes a trip to “Yomi” (“dark realm of the dead”). He realizes that there is little difference between this land underground and above, except the eternal darkness that is installed in Yomi. However, it was dark enough to make him long for the light and life that the world came. Izanagi tried it quickly on his girlfriend and eventually found it. In the beginning God was unable to see Izanami entirely as it shadows covered appearance. When asked it to return to the world above, Izanami replied that it is too late because she already consumed food in the world now being dead and thus belonging to this world. She could not return among the living.
Izanagi was shocked when he heard this, but would not yield to the wishes of his beloved to be left the realm of darkness. When Izanami was sleeping, he took them hair cone long hair gathered and lit like a torch. When it was light, was struck by the horrible appearance of the once beautiful and graceful Izanami was. It was now a form of rotten meat.
Crying after Izanami, Izanagi could not master the fear and began to run, intending to return to the living world and to leave his wife forever. Izanami woke up, and screaming at the Izanagi followed. She sent some shikome, morbid female creatures that haunt him Izanagi and bring him back to her. Trying to escape his wife shikome Izanagi throws comb, which turns into a bamboo thicket preventing passage of pursuers. Finally, after many attempts, Izanagi reached the boundary between two worlds and push a boulder at the mouth of the cave that leads to Yomi. Izanami and her attendants can not go ahead, but the goddess cried her husband that if she leaves it will kill 1,000 people daily. Izanagi replied that he would give birth to other 1500 instead.
